Metaphor: Wind generated waves are created from the surface friction of the wind against the water, which transfers part of the wind's energy into the water. Depending on the power of the wind, wind waves can vary in both size and power. In my metaphor I am the water and the MET courses in this category are the wind, which are transferring their knowledge and ideas (energy) into me causing the wave to form. This transfer takes place due to friction which represents my own resistance to new ideas, and the process of assimilating and accommodating of new knowledge.
The courses that I feel best represent wind waves are ETEC 512, ETEC 530, and ETEC 532 as all of these courses contained very practical information, ideas and frameworks that I can directly implement into my classroom. Some of the concepts presented in this course were more influential to my learning than others. This is represented in my metaphor by stronger winds, and therefore bigger waves. Wind waves are very common in the ocean, but they play a large part in reshaping the shoreline (my future).
