Metaphor: Seiche waves are caused by atmospheric pressure, high winds or certain types of earthquakes within a bounded area such as a sea or bay. It is similar to water sloshing back in forth in a bathtub when the water is disturbed. Not all seiche waves are visible to the naked eye due to the long wavelengths of the wave. The following MET courses in this category are like the Seiche wave as they demonstrate how the water has been disturbed by different theories/learning, and how the resulting effect pushes against the bounded area of the classroom to ultimately reshape it. These ideas are so fundamental so it might not be directly seen, but they are present and quite powerful. The three courses that I have chosen to include in this category are ETEC 510, 511 and 565A.
